H2O Brief Background and History
H20 Youth life in 2002 with a strong leadership team and a clear sense of purpose that through a range of outreach projects such as H20 Friday, H20 Sunday, H20 Lounge, H20 15+. These initiatives enabled H20 Youth to become a recognised and significant youth ministry in Newquay and the surrounding area.

In 2004, with the opening of the Source Café, there were a number of staff changes within Newquay Christian Centre which left H20 Youth Ministry under a care-taker management system.

In 2005 Newquay Christian Centre recognised the need to continue to reach out to young people and engage them in Church and associated activities.

The NCC Leadership team announced that it intended to take on for the first time a full time paid Youth Pastor. NCC also applied to the Rank Foundation to fund a second post of a full time Student Youth Worker with a clear mandate of developing a range of initiatives that aim at engaging with the youth culture of Newquay with a target age range of 12-16 year olds.

On the 4th September 2006 H20 Youth recruited a full time Youth Pastor and full time Student Youth Worker funded by the Rank Foundation under the 5 year Youth or Adult? Scheme.
