H2O Youth France Snowboard Mission February 2010 Part two
Continued....
Our mission was to share the Love of Jesus with the people of Thonon Les Bain (French Alps) and we did this by organising youth events, preaching in the church, performing dramas, showing Christian Snowboarding movies, performing acoustic café gigs and placing stones all around the town that we had previously painted with hearts and the Cross wrapped in the scripture John 3:16. Of course we also went to enjoy the wonder of God’s creation as we sought to makes some fresh tracks on our snowboards and conquer the mountains of Bernex and Chatel.
France is an amazing country, the people, the food, the mountains but it is also a country in great need of the gospel. What hit me when I entered the church is just how tough the mission field over there is. This nation needs our fervent prayer. Pastor Luc and Rachel are doing an amazing job but are facing the challenges of having to share Jesus in an even more secular nation than the UK
It was also great to catch up good friends Andreas and Tanja Perch, a couple who are pioneering an innovative mission and outreach to seasonal snowboarders and skiers called SWITCH in Val’d Isere (3 hours from Thonon). It was encouraging to hear that the mission is growing with the development of an SWITCH internship and 20 people in attendance at their church meetings.

The famous preacher Charles Spurgeon once said that ‘Every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor’ – Be blessed as you live life on Mission…
